Gajanan Tiles Mould Industries

Out on Road No. 11 in the Gidc, you’ll find us at Plot No. 447. We make moulds for tiles, which involves a lot of heavy lifting and precision in a way that doesn't always look pretty. The workshop is full of metal scraps and the sound of grinders. It’s not the kind of place you’d want to wear a nice suit to. We spend our days looking at designs and trying to get the edges just right so the tiles come out clean. Sometimes the heat in the Gidc gets to be a bit much, so we take breaks under the shade of the tree out front. We aren't big on corporate talk or fancy titles. Most of us just go by our first names and know what needs to be done without being told. The floor is concrete and usually covered in a bit of grit from the grinding process. We have a small corner for tea and water, which is where we spend our mornings planning out the day’s work. Most of our customers are from the surrounding tile factories who need specific shapes or sizes. We’ve been at this spot for several years, and while the road outside has gotten more potholes, we’re still here doing the same work. It’s a grit-and-metal kind of life, but it suits us fine. We just focus on the moulds and try to keep the machines from breaking down.
