Kamaldeep Industries (India)

Our spot is at 515 in the New Cloth Market, just outside Raipur Gate. It’s a hectic part of town, especially when the trucks are trying to squeeze through the gates. This market has a lot of character, and we’ve been here long enough to see it change over the years. We handle textiles and industrial goods, so the office is often filled with samples and heavy rolls of material. It isn’t a polished corporate office. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving boxes, and the desks are old and sturdy. We spend our days tracking shipments and making sure the inventory matches the books. It gets quite hot in the summer, so the ceiling fans are always on full blast. There’s a small area where we sit to talk to the transport guys and the local merchants. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. It’s just about getting the cloth out to the people who need it. The noise from the street is constant, but it becomes like background music after a while. We know our neighbors well, and we often share a tea in the late afternoon when things slow down a bit. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we enjoy being right in the center of the trading action. We usually wrap things up by making sure the day's invoices are all filed away correctly before locking the front gate for the night.
