Kamal Moulds

You can find us at Tejendra Estate, right across from Torrent Power on Odhav Road. We have units 25 and 28. It is a noisy part of town because of all the factories and trucks moving around. We spend most of our time working with metal and making moulds. The machines are pretty loud, so we have to shout sometimes to hear each other. There is always a layer of metal dust on everything, even if we clean it every morning. We started small and just stayed in this same spot. People usually find us because they saw the sign or heard about us from someone else in the estate. It is a practical workshop. We do not have air conditioning, just some big fans that move the hot air around during the summer. We make all sorts of shapes for different industries. Some days are slow and we just maintain the equipment. Other days, we are working late into the evening to get a job finished. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea when we take a break. It is a grit-under-the-fingernails kind of job. The estate road is a bit bumpy, especially after it rains. We do not mind it much. This place feels like home because we have spent so many hours here. Just a bunch of guys working with their hands every day and getting things done.
