Shyam Marketing

Shyam Marketing is tucked away on the second floor of Ranchod Market, right in the middle of Sakar Bazaar in Kalupur. If you know Kalupur, you know how crowded it gets with all the traders and the laborers moving sacks of goods around. Getting up to the second floor can be a bit of a workout, especially on those days when the stairs are blocked by deliveries. We’ve been in this market for a long time, and we’ve seen shops come and go, but we just stay here at number 17. Our office isn't anything special to look at. It’s mostly just desks piled high with papers and samples of the products we market. We spend a lot of our time on the phone, talking to suppliers or trying to track down where a shipment has gotten to. The noise from the bazaar downstairs never really stops, so you just get used to the constant hum of people shouting and horns honking. It’s a fast-paced environment, but we try to keep things calm in our little space. We don't have a big corporate structure; it’s just a few of us trying to make a living and keeping our clients happy with whatever they need. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we have an old fan that does its best. We’re just regular people doing trade in a very old part of the city.
