Kadam Maternity & Nursing Home & Sonography Centre

Out here at 17 Chinubhai Colony, things can get pretty loud because of the football ground nearby. You can hear the shouting and the whistles while you’re sitting in the waiting room. It’s been Kadam Maternity for a long time now. We also do the sonography stuff here, so there is always a mix of people coming in. Some are nervous, some are happy, and some are just tired of waiting. The building is tucked away near Kankariya Road, so if you aren’t looking for it, you might drive right past. The reception area is small and the chairs are those plastic ones that are okay but not the most comfortable for a long sit. We’ve got a couple of rooms for the checkups and the sonography machine is in the back. It’s a busy little spot in Kankaria. We see a lot of families from the colony and the surrounding blocks. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how things are around here. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know how everything runs. It’s a practical place. We don’t do much in the way of decorating, just a few posters on the walls about health things. It feels like a real part of the neighborhood, not a cold hospital. We just go about our business and help the people who walk through the door.
