Jay Chamunda Wooden Works

Our shop is located at 4 Umiyanagar, right across from the Rashtrya Bhasha School on Ctm Road. It’s a busy street in Amraiwadi, and we’ve been here quite some time now. Working with wood is what we know. Most of the day is spent cutting, shaping, and getting things ready. It’s not a quiet job. There is always a saw running or someone hammering something. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be organized, though it might look messy to someone else with all the wood stacked up. We deal with all sorts of wooden works, from small fixes to bigger items people need for their houses. Ctm Road can get really noisy with the traffic, but once we’re focused on the wood, we don’t notice it much. We usually start early in the morning when it’s a bit cooler. It feels good to finish something and see it ready to go. We aren’t looking to be the biggest shop in Amraiwadi, just to keep doing the work we’ve always done. People know where to find us if they need something made from wood. We’ve been in this same spot for so long that the school across the road feels like an old neighbor. It’s a straightforward business, nothing too complicated about it. We just focus on the craft and the wood in front of us.
