We are up on the third floor of Agrawal Centre, which is near the Income Tax Circle on Ashram Road. Being in this part of town means things are always moving fast, but once you get up to our office at number 8, it’s a bit more settled. J. K. Horticulture Export Pvt. Ltd. focuses on exactly what the name suggests, though mostly we’re buried in the paperwork that comes with moving plants and products across borders. The office has a lot of natural light, which is nice, but it gets pretty hot in the afternoons. We have a lot of files piled up because horticulture involves so many regulations and certificates. It’s not a polished corporate space; we have a few plants in the corner, and the coffee machine is a bit temperamental. We spend our days talking to growers and shipping agents. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the timing is right. We don't bother with fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just want to make sure the orders leave on time and arrive in good shape. Ashram Road is a convenient location, even if parking is a nightmare sometimes. Most of us take the bus or ride a scooter to avoid the mess near the circle. We’re just a group of people who know our way around the export business. It's a living and we do it as best we can.
