J International is right in the middle of Rewadi Bazar in Kalupur. If you’ve ever been to this part of the city, you know it’s one of the most crowded places you can find. There are carts, rickshaws, and people everywhere, all the time. Our shop is small, like most of the others in the bazar, and we have to use every inch of space we have. We stack boxes all the way to the ceiling sometimes, and you have to be careful not to knock anything over when you move around. The noise from the street is constant—horns honking and people shouting out prices. It’s a lot of energy, and it keeps us on our toes. We don’t really have a set routine because you never know who’s going to walk through the door or what the traffic will be like. Most days we are just busy counting stock or talking to the other shopkeepers nearby. We’ve known our neighbors for years, and we often share tea or help each other out when a big delivery arrives. It’s a dusty, loud, and cramped place to work, but it’s where the heart of the trade is. You won't find any fancy displays here; we just put the goods out where people can see them and go from there. It’s been this way for a long time, and we don’t see it changing much.
