Our place, ISB Bearing India Pvt.Ltd., is located in Shed No. 62 within the Sun Shine Industrial Park. It’s right behind the Bhagyoday Hotel, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find us for the first time. Working in an industrial park means there’s always noise from trucks and other machines nearby. Our shed is pretty large, which is lucky because we have a lot of heavy items to store. Most of the day involves moving things with the pallet jack and making sure the inventory counts are correct. It’s a lot of metal and grease, so things don’t stay clean for very long. We have a small area partitioned off for the computers and files, but most of the action happens on the main floor. The heat can get a bit much under the tin roof, but we have some big fans that help a little. We usually start the day early before the sun gets too high. It’s just a group of us here, working through the orders and getting them ready for transport. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk; we just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes the hotel nearby smells like food, which is a nice change from the industrial smells of the park. It’s a steady job, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the industrial park life over the years.
