Indigo Architects

We've been at Plot No 974 in Shilaj for a while now. It's a quiet enough spot right opposite the Ramapir Temple, though Ahmedabad traffic finds its way everywhere eventually. Being here at Indigo Architects means we spend most of our days looking at blueprints and talking to contractors. It’s not always glamorous work. Sometimes the site visits are dusty and the sun is just brutal, but that’s part of building things here. We just focus on the drawings and making sure the measurements actually make sense when the bricks start going up. Most people find us because they know the temple landmark, which is handy since the lane can be a bit tricky if you’re new to the area. Our office isn't anything fancy, just a place where we keep our drafts and samples piled up. We deal with a lot of local stuff, trying to figure out how to make spaces work without overcomplicating things. It gets busy during the middle of the week, but we try to keep things organized. If you've walked past the plot, you probably saw our sign. We've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit from our windows. It's just a small team here, mostly focused on getting the technical details right so the builders don't have questions later on. We stay pretty occupied with the day-to-day grind of permits and sketches. We don't really have a lobby, so most people just pull up a chair next to whichever desk is free.
