I H Nagori Palangwala

I H Nagori Palangwala has been a fixture in the Pattharkuva area for a long time. Our workshop is located behind the Pir Mohammad Sha Roja and right across from Bhagwati Emporium on Relief Road. This part of the city is very old and always full of activity. We specialize in making beds, or palangs as we call them, and our shop is usually full of wooden frames and metal parts. You can hear the sound of hammers and saws from the street. Relief Road is a very crowded place, and our shop is tucked away just enough to give us room to work. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. Instead, we have a workspace where you can see the beds being put together. The wood shavings get everywhere, and the smell of sawdust is always in the air. We take pride in making things that are solid and heavy. People come to us when they want a bed that won't creak or break after a few years. We don't do much advertising; people just know us from being in the neighborhood for so long. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it is quiet and watch the people going to the Roja. It is a traditional way of doing business, where we talk directly to the customers and figure out what they need. The work is physical and keeps us on our feet all day, but we prefer it that way over sitting in an office.
