We've been set up here in Yachavaram for some time now. It’s a quiet enough part of the Prakasam district, though the roads get busy when the trucks start moving in and out of the yard. Cumbum isn't too far away if we need parts or extra supplies that aren't kept on hand. The weather here can be pretty rough during the summer months. It gets so hot that the metal tools are hard to touch by midday, so we usually start the shifts very early when it’s still dark and a bit cooler. We have a small office where we keep the site plans and the payroll books, but most of the actual work happens outside. The team is mostly local guys who know the land well. Sometimes the rain washes out the access paths, and we have to spend a morning just clearing mud before the real work can get going again. It’s not a fancy setup, just some desks, a couple of old fans that struggle to keep the dust off the papers, and a lot of heavy machinery parked out back. People stop by to ask about jobs or just to see what we are digging up next. We just keep our heads down and get through the daily tasks. It’s honest work, even if the boots stay muddy and the hours are long.
