Down here at Plot No. 214 in the Gidc area, the heat can get pretty intense, especially near the presses. Bhagwati Rubber Product Industries Unit - 2 is where we handle a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to molding and shaping rubber. You can smell the material as soon as you turn the corner into our street. It’s a very distinct scent that stays on your clothes long after you leave for the day. We spend hours trimming edges off gaskets and checking for air bubbles in the seals. It’s repetitive work, but it’s what keeps the lights on. The machines are old but they still work fine as long as we grease them every morning. Sometimes we run out of storage space and have to stack the crates nearly to the ceiling. We have a small break area near the back door where there’s usually a bit of a breeze. People around here know us for being the ones who are always busy loading up trailers. We don't have a big front office with fancy chairs. We just have a desk with a lot of invoices and a phone that rings more than it should. The floor is always a bit dusty from the raw materials, but we sweep it every evening before we lock up. It’s just a regular factory job and we’re fine with that.
