Gujrat State Womens Sewa Co-Op. Federation

We have been running things out of Goyal Tower for quite some time now, right on University Road in Ahmedabad. If you know where Jahnvi Restaurant is or have seen the Gulbaitekra Police Station, we are basically right across from there in units 21 and 22. This federation is really just about the women here working together to get things done. It is definitely not some fancy corporate office with modern furniture. Mostly, it’s just a lot of us sitting around at old desks, handling the paperwork and trying to organize the different cooperative efforts happening across the state. We see a lot of people coming in and out every day, mostly women from the various groups we support. It gets a bit noisy sometimes because of the traffic outside on the main road, and the cooling doesn't always work perfectly when it's hot out. The office isn't anything special to look at, just plain walls, some old filing cabinets that have been here forever, and posters from past events we've held. We mostly focus on making sure the local groups have what they need to keep their own small projects going. Someone is always on the phone or in the back making tea for visitors. It feels much more like a busy community center than a formal business. We try to keep things moving even when the paperwork starts to pile up on the tables. It’s hard work, but it is what we do here.
