Our place is right near G.D. High School in Saijpur Bogha. It’s an interesting spot because you have the school noise on one side and our industrial sounds on the other. Technocasting is what we do, which mostly means we spend our time with molds and molten metal. It gets pretty hot inside, especially during the summer months in Gujarat, but we are all used to it by now. The neighborhood knows us pretty well. We’ve seen kids grow up and finish school while we were busy here in the shop. It’s not the cleanest job in the world—you’re going to get some soot on your clothes and grease on your hands—but it’s what we know. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most people find us because they need specific casting work done and they heard we were nearby. We focus on the molds and making sure the metal pours right. Every day is a bit different depending on what the customer needs. Sometimes it’s a simple part, other times it’s something more complex that takes a few tries to get perfect. We just keep at it until it's done. Our gates are usually open early in the morning so the air can circulate through the building. It’s a busy life here in Saijpur Bogha, and we are just glad to be a small part of the local landscape.
