Our base of operations is over at Chamak Complex in the Thakkarbapa Nagar area. We are right on National Highway No-8, so you can imagine the amount of truck traffic and noise we deal with every single day. Being in the cement business means things are often a bit gritty. We handle the distribution for Gujarat Anjan Cement from this office. Most of our work involves talking to transporters and making sure the loads reach the construction sites on time. The office is not much to look at, just some sturdy desks, a few chairs for visitors, and plenty of ledgers. We do not use any big marketing words because everyone around here knows what cement is for. We just try to keep our head down and manage the supply chain as best as we can. Thakkarbapa Nagar is a tough, hardworking neighborhood, and our office fits right in. Sometimes the dust from the highway makes it hard to keep the windows open, but we are used to it by now. We spend a lot of time on the phone, often shouting over the sound of the horns outside. It is a very practical, hands-on kind of job. We do not have a fancy mission statement or anything. We just want to make sure the bags are loaded correctly and the accounts are settled at the end of the month. It is a straightforward way to make a living for all of us here.
