We are located over at 28, Damubhai Colony. If you know the Anjali Cinema Char Rasta in Ahmedabad, we are just right there in the Bhattha area of Paldi. It’s a busy spot with all the traffic coming off the bridge. This office handles the Roads and Buildings work for the Gujarat government, mostly connecting back to the main setup in Gandhinagar. It isn’t a fancy corporate office. It’s an old building with high ceilings and heavy wooden desks piled with files. We spend most of our days looking at maintenance schedules and talking to contractors who come in for their signatures. The tea stall downstairs is where most of the actual talk happens. Some days the humidity in Paldi is quite something, and the old coolers don't do much. People come in asking about road repairs or new construction projects around the city and beyond. We try to keep the records straight. It’s a lot of paperwork, honestly. You get used to the sound of the traffic outside and the constant shuffling of files. We have been in this colony for a long time now. Most people around here just know us as the R&B office near the cinema. It’s a straightforward place. We open up in the morning, deal with the queue, and head home when the sun goes down. Nothing too complicated about how we run things here in Ahmedabad. Just everyday government work for the state. We do what we can with the resources we have.
