Ganesh Wood Enterprise

We are located near the Gota Cross Road, right opposite the Khodiyar Temple and not far from the SG Highway. If you come by Ganesh Wood Enterprise, you’ll probably smell the sawdust before you even see the sign. We have piles of wood stacked up outside and even more inside. It’s a dusty business, and by the end of the day, everything we’re wearing is covered in a fine layer of wood shavings. The temple across the road is a busy place, especially on certain days, so we hear the bells and the people while we are working our saws. It’s a very loud environment when the machines are running. We spend a lot of time measuring boards and moving heavy timber around. The heat in Gota can be something else, especially when we’re working near the highway where there isn’t much shade. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just the workshop and the storage yard. We’ve got some old benches where we sit and take a break now and then. People stop in because they need specific cuts of wood or they’re working on a project nearby. We don’t do a lot of talking; we just get the wood ready and loaded onto the trucks. It’s hard work, but it’s what we’ve been doing for years here near the SG Highway. It’s just a regular wood yard run by people who know their way around a saw.
