Gopal Medical

Gopal Medical is tucked into Shop No 1 at Saraswati Chambers. We are right across from Chandramani Hospital on Girdharnagar Road. Shahibaug is always crowded and there is a lot of energy on the streets here. Our shop is a bit small but we make it work for us. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling so space is tight. I have to use a small stool to reach the top rows. It’s a bit of a workout every day. Most of the people who come in are visiting the hospital or they live in the nearby apartments. We see a lot of the same faces every month when they come for their refills. The traffic outside is constant and the horns never stop. You get used to the noise after a while. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use our torches to find things in the back. It’s just one of those things you deal with in the city. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. My nephew helps me out in the afternoons after his classes are finished. We keep a ledger for everything because it’s easier than relying only on the computer. It’s a simple way of doing things but it works for us. We try to be helpful when people are worried about their health. It’s not just a business to us. It is our daily life here.
