If you are in Ahmedabad and head down Ashram Road, you’ll find us in Laxmi Palace. We are up on the fourth floor, room 401, right behind the City Gold Cinema. It is a very busy part of town, so there is always a lot of noise from the street—horns honking and people shouting. Gmmco Ltd and Caterpillar India share this space, so it can get quite cramped when everyone is in at the same time. There are always boxes of parts arriving or being sent out, so you have to watch your step. The elevator in the building is a bit moody, so some of us just take the stairs to stay moving. Our office has a lot of windows, which is great for light but makes it very warm, so the fans are always on the highest setting. We handle a lot of the big engine stuff here, and you can usually find someone buried under a pile of technical specs or invoices. It is a fast-paced environment because the machinery we deal with is used for big projects. We don't have a fancy coffee machine, just a kettle and some instant packets. People stop by all the time because of the central location, so there is always someone new to talk to. It’s a bit chaotic, but it is a good kind of busy that makes the day go by fast.
