We are Gillden Paints, and you can find our place at No 7-8 in the Datar Corporation Estate. It’s right opposite the Old Narol Court in the Narol area. If you’ve been around Narol, you know it’s quite industrial. Our units are pretty basic, just the way we like it for making paint. There’s usually a faint smell of chemicals and pigments in the air, which we don't even notice anymore. We spend our time mixing and checking colors. It’s a messy job, so we don't wear our best clothes to work. The estate is always busy with lorries coming and going. We have a small crew, and we’ve all known each other for a long time. There’s no big boss sitting in a corner office here; we’re all out on the floor mostly. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure the paint is the right shade and the batch is right for whoever is buying it. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It’s a simple life. We focus on the batches we have to finish today. That’s about all there is to it. We’re just a paint company in Narol, trying to keep up with the orders. We’ve been here a while and know how the local trade works.
