Ajantha Garment Industries

Our workshop is located at No. 301 in Neel Apartment, which is part of Laxmi Colony. It is right across from the Ghodasar Police Station, so it is quite easy for people to find us if they know the neighborhood. Being in an apartment building means it doesn't really feel like a big industrial factory, but we have enough space for our sewing machines and the cutting tables. We do a lot of garment work here, mostly focusing on basic clothing that people wear every day. The rooms are often filled with the sound of machines humming and the smell of fresh fabric. It gets a bit cramped when we have a big order to finish, with stacks of finished clothes sitting in the corners waiting to be moved out. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees; it is just a handful of us working together to get the stitching right. Sometimes we sit and have tea together when the work slows down a bit in the afternoon. The light in the rooms is okay during the day, but we had to add some extra lamps for when we stay late to finish things up. Ghodasar is a busy area, but our little spot in the colony stays relatively quiet compared to the main road. We just focus on our patterns and making sure the thread matches the cloth. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time now.
