We have been based at the Nakoda Society location near the Chandkheda railway station for quite some time now. Most folks in the Jagatpur area recognize us by the different types of industrial ropes and nets we keep in stock. It is a busy little corner of Ahmedabad, and the office usually has someone coming in to discuss a specific order or check on a delivery. We do not go in for fancy decor or expensive office furniture. It is mostly just stacks of paper, a few desks, and the sound of the trains passing by nearby. Sometimes the traffic gets pretty backed up around the station, but we just work through it. Our team is small and we have worked together for several years now, so we have a good rhythm going. My desk is usually a mess of notes about synthetic cordage and shipping dates. It is not the most exciting work to some, but it keeps us on our toes from morning until late afternoon. We deal with various clients, and it is always interesting to see where our materials end up, like on large ships or big construction sites. There is usually a pot of tea going somewhere in the back. We try to keep things simple and just focus on making sure the inventory matches our records, which takes up a good chunk of our time every single day.
