Gajjar Industries

Down here at 73 and 74 in the Amar Industrial Estate, things are always moving. We are located right behind the fruit market on Naroda Road, so there’s a constant mix of smells in the air, mostly sweet fruit and sometimes exhaust from the trucks. Gajjar Industries has been in these units for a long time. The floors are concrete and have their fair share of cracks and oil stains, but that’s just the nature of industrial work. We have machines running most of the day, making a steady hum that you eventually stop noticing. It gets dusty, and we have to wipe down the benches every morning before we start. The workers usually arrive early, and we get the power switched on before the sun gets too high. Being near the fruit market means the traffic is heavy with carts and lorries from dawn. Sometimes it’s hard for our own delivery trucks to get through the gates. We don't have a big fancy reception area. If you come to see us, you’ll probably find us on the shop floor or sitting at the small wooden desk in the corner of the unit. We handle a lot of metal work and fabrication stuff. It’s hard work, and your hands get dirty, but it feels good to see a finished product ready to be shipped out. We just take it one order at a time and try to stay on top of the schedule.
