Our place is over on Plot No. 172 and 173 along Road No. 4 in the G.I.D.C. Kathwada area. If you know this part of town, you know it’s mostly industrial stuff everywhere you look. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially inside the workshop where all the valves and controls are kept. We spend a lot of time checking gauges and moving heavy parts around. The floor is concrete and usually has some grease marks here and there from the machines. It’s an honest kind of work environment. We don’t have any big corporate reception or anything like that. Just a small office space and a large area for the actual production. Most of the guys have been working here for years and they know exactly where every tool is kept. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, so we’re always cleaning off the desks. We handle the technical side of things without making a big fuss about it. Lunch is usually eaten together in the back or sometimes someone goes out to get snacks from the local stalls near the gate. It’s a steady pace most days. We focus on the valves and making sure everything fits together right. Kathwada is a busy zone, so there’s always truck traffic outside our doors. It’s just a regular industrial setup where we put in our hours and get the parts out.
