We are based over at the Span Trade Centre, specifically in unit 1001. It is a busy spot in Paldi, right across from the Kocharab Ashram. Some mornings, I look out the window and just watch the traffic pile up while the sun starts hitting the old buildings nearby. EIE Instruments has been here for a while now. The office is usually filled with the sound of someone tapping on a keyboard or the heavy thud of boxes being moved around. It isn't a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. We have these shelves lined with all sorts of technical equipment and instruments that we deal with every day. Sometimes the elevator takes forever, so we end up taking the stairs, which is quite a workout since we are way up on the tenth floor. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we all take a breather. We don't really do big speeches or fancy meetings here. It is mostly just about checking the orders, making sure the labels are right, and keeping the dust off the gear. The area around Paldi has changed a lot since we started, but our little corner in the trade centre stays pretty much the same. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the glass, but we just pull the blinds and keep working until it’s time to head home through the Ahmedabad crowd.
