Our little office is right in Vithoda, which is part of the Kheralu taluka. If you know the Mehsana area, you probably know it’s a lot of small towns and villages all connected together. We handle the courier stuff for this side of the district. It’s a lot of sorting through bags and making sure the labels are readable. Some of the handwriting we see on these parcels is really something else. We spend a good chunk of the day just trying to figure out where a package is supposed to go. Dtdc has us here to cover the local ground. It’s not like those big city centers with glass walls and uniforms. Here, we just wear whatever is comfortable for moving heavy cargo around. The floor gets a bit messy with tape and scraps of cardboard by the end of the shift. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. My nephew helps with the heavy lifting on the weekends. Sometimes the weather in Gujarat gets so hot that we have to take a long break in the middle of the day. But once it cools down, we are back at it, loading up the small vans. It’s a simple life in Vithoda. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. We don't use big words or try to act like we are doing something world-changing. We just move boxes from one place to another.
