Diplast Plastic Ltd. sits right on Plot 304 along the Sarkhej-Bavla Highway in Changodar. Being on the highway means there is always the sound of trucks rumbling past. It’s a dusty area, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. The facility is basically a large shed with high ceilings where we keep the plastic stuff. We have these big machines that run for hours. It gets quite hot in there, especially during the summer months when the sun hits the metal roof. Most of the guys here wear heavy boots because there is always something being moved around. We make all sorts of plastic items, and they pile up in the corners until the trucks come to pick them up. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and manual labor. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find someone covered in a bit of dust or busy checking a machine. We eat lunch together in a small side room where it's a bit quieter. The work is steady, and there’s always a list of things that need fixing or cleaning. We’ve been out here for a long time, and we know the neighbors pretty well. It’s a hard-working spot, no doubt about it. We just focus on the day-to-day tasks and try to keep the machines running without too much trouble. We usually finish the last shift and lock up the big gates before heading back to the city.
