The Ajanta Commercial Center is a busy spot in Ahmedabad. We are up on the fifth floor in A/28-2. It’s a bit different from the factories downstairs because we spend our time on computers. The elevators can be slow in the mornings when everyone is trying to get to their offices at the same time. Sometimes it's faster to just take the stairs, even if it leaves you a bit out of breath. The office is pretty simple. We have a few desks, some chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of tangled cables under the tables. Ahmedabad gets incredibly hot, so the air conditioner is the most important thing in the room. When it breaks down, work basically stops because it’s impossible to think. We don't have a receptionist, so if someone knocks, one of us just gets up to see who it is. Most of our day is spent looking at screens and typing. We go out for lunch to the stalls nearby; there is a good place for snacks just a block away. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment with suits and ties. We mostly wear jeans and just try to get through the task list. Sometimes the internet goes out and we all just sit around talking until it comes back. It's a small team, and we've been working together for a while now without much fuss or drama.
