Life in Dholka Gidc is pretty much the same every day. We get to Plot No. 620 early before the sun gets too high, though the warehouse stays warm regardless of the time. Dealing with wiring means you’re always surrounded by these huge wooden spools and scraps of copper and plastic. It’s a lot of winding and unwinding. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the morning fixing a belt or cleaning out the dust. We aren't a massive operation, just a handful of us making sure the wire is cut to the right lengths and packed into the boxes properly. You wouldn't think there is much to say about electrical wiring, but there is always something to do around the shop. Lunch is usually a quick thing we do together sitting on some crates. The road outside gets pretty muddy when it rains, which makes loading the trucks a real pain, but we manage to get it done. We’ve got a small desk in the corner for the paperwork, but most of the time is spent out on the floor. It’s noisy and there's always that smell of warm insulation in the air. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure we don't run out of materials. It’s steady work, and we’ve been at this plot long enough that we know all the drivers who come through the gate.
