Denmark Machine Tools

We’ve got our shop at 19, Gujarat Industrial Estate. If you know the area, we’re right opposite Tribhuvan Estate and tucked behind the Reliance Petrol Pump on Memco Bapunagar Road. Denmark Machine Tools is mostly about the sound of metal and the smell of oil. We deal with various tools and machinery parts every day. It’s a noisy place to work, but that’s just how an industrial estate is. There are always trucks moving in and out, and the petrol pump nearby stays busy. Our floor is usually a bit dusty from all the work going on. We don’t have air conditioning in the main workshop, so it gets pretty warm during the summer months. We just keep the doors open and get on with it. Most of us have been working with these kinds of machines for a long time. We know which ones are finicky and which ones work perfectly every time. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit; we’re usually in work clothes that don't mind a bit of grease. We spend our time fixing tools or helping people find the specific part they need for their own projects. It’s practical, hands-on work. We don't have much of a front office, just a small space to handle the bills and talk to whoever drops by. If we aren't there, we're probably out back or getting a tea. It is what it is, a small workshop in a big industrial city.
