Chetna Electricals

Khadia is one of those old parts of Ahmedabad that has so much character, and we are right in the middle of it. Our shop, Chetna Electricals, is located near the Vedai Pada Pole on Gandhi Road. If you know Pada Ni Pol, you know how narrow and winding the lanes can be. It’s a historic area, and our building feels like it has been here forever. We sell all kinds of electrical parts, from wires to switches and everything in between. The shop is small and a bit cramped because we try to fit as much stock as possible on the shelves. There is a lot of shouting and noise from the street outside, with scooters squeezing past and people walking by. We spend a lot of time climbing ladders to reach the top shelves for a specific part someone asked for. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, where you talk to every customer and know half of them by name. The dust from the road settles on everything, so we are always wiping down the counters. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that have been spinning for years. It’s a busy, hot, and loud place to work, but it feels like home. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in from the pole. It can be exhausting by the end of the day but we're used to it.
