We are located in Paldi, right across from the Shankar Ashram. It is a pretty well-known landmark, so people usually find us without too much trouble. The building is called Sankar. It is a busy area and there is always a lot of movement around the ashram. Our daily routine involves a lot of checking on supplies and talking to suppliers. We deal with textiles and chemicals, so there is always something to be moved or measured. The office is not very large, and it can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock coming in. We try to keep things organized but it is a struggle sometimes. The weather here can be quite hot, so we usually have the fans going all day long. We are not doing anything revolutionary; we just provide the materials that people need for their own businesses. Most of us have been working here for years, so we know the routine inside out. It is a local operation and we know the other shop owners on the street. We go out for lunch at the small places nearby. It is a basic way of doing business without any of the corporate talk. We just show up, do the work, and go home when the sun goes down. Sometimes we stay late to finish the ledger, but mostly we stick to a regular schedule. It is just part of being in this neighborhood.
