Chandan Leather Export Private Limited

Our place is G 304 inside Malabar County, right on Dr. Ambedkar University Road. It’s a bit of a way out near Nirma University in the Charrodi area of Daskroi. We handle leather exports at Chandan Leather Export Private Limited. It’s mostly desks and samples laying around. You can usually smell the leather when you walk in, that heavy, earthy scent. We aren't a big factory or anything, just the office where we manage all the orders and check on the shipments. The Malabar County area is actually quite nice, a bit quieter than the middle of Ahmedabad. We see a lot of students from Nirma University walking around during the day. Our staff is just a few people who know the leather trade well. We spend most of the morning checking emails and talking to the suppliers. Sometimes the shipments get delayed at the port and we have to spend hours on the phone trying to figure out what happened. It’s not always exciting work but it’s what we know. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea and eat lunch together. The office gets plenty of sunlight through the windows which is nice in the winter. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big reception desk. If you come by, you’ll probably find us hunched over laptops or looking at leather swatches. We just focus on getting the goods sent out and making sure the numbers add up at the end of the month.
