Chair Craft

You will find us at 18/149 Ambedkar Colony, right on Bhudarpura Road in the Ambavadi area. Chair Craft is basically a small workshop where we handle chairs all day long. The smell of wood and varnish is pretty much stuck in the walls by now. It is a humble place, nothing like those big corporate furniture stores you see on the main roads. We have been here for a while and the neighbors in the colony are used to the sounds of us working. Sometimes we are fixing an old leg on a stool, other times we are putting together something new. There is always a pile of sawdust on the floor that needs sweeping. We don't really do any big advertising. People just know we are here on Bhudarpura Road. We have a lot of tools scattered around, and it might look a bit messy to an outsider, but we know where everything is kept. It gets quite hot in the summer, so we usually have a fan going full blast. We are just regular people doing a job. If someone brings in a broken chair, we take a look and see what can be done. It is practical work. We don't spend much time on the phone or computer. Most of our day is spent at the workbench. It is a bit cramped in the shop, but we make it work for us. Ambavadi is a good spot to be in.
