Our office for Camilla Crystal Impex Private Limited is tucked away in the Shahpur Mill Compound, just opposite Preyas High School. If you know Ahmedabad, you know Shahpur is one of those old-school areas where things are always moving. The building is 1464/3, and it has that specific feel of an old industrial space that has seen a lot of history. Being across from a school means we hear the bell ring all the time and the kids shouting during their lunch breaks. It keeps the place lively, even if it gets a bit loud when we are trying to focus on our crystal exports. This isn't some high-rise corporate center. It’s a bit dusty and the stairs are steep, but it works for what we do. We spend a lot of our time checking orders and making sure the crystals are packed properly so nothing breaks during transit. Gujarat is a big hub for this kind of trade, and we are just a small part of that big machine. The Shahpur area has its own rhythm, and we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We usually start the day early before the heat gets too bad. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment needs to go out. We don’t really have a big team, just a few of us who know the business well. It’s practical work and we just focus on the task at hand.
