Our place is located near St Nagar, right along the Kapadvang Road. It’s a stretch of road that sees a lot of traffic, especially with the buses and trucks passing through all day. The name C M Smith And Sons has been around for a long time, and we still operate with that same old-school mindset. It’s mostly family and workers who have been with us for years. The workshop stays busy, and there’s always that smell of metal and oil in the air that you can’t ever really get rid of. We don’t have a big reception area or anyone to greet you at the door with a smile; usually, you just walk in and find someone covered in grease to talk to. The building shows its age, but it’s sturdy and does the job we need it to do. On rainy days, the road outside gets a bit muddy, and it slows things down, but we just keep at it. We aren't interested in making things look polished for a website or a brochure. Most of our day is spent making sure the parts are right and the machines are running. It's a simple way of living and working. We know the local shopkeepers and the tea stall nearby where we go for breaks. It’s just a regular business on a regular road, doing what we know how to do without making any big fuss about it.
