Our place is in Odhav, right inside the Jay Laxmi Industrial Estate. We are at Plot 33, which is across from Anup Engineering. If you get to the C.M.C. building, you’re pretty close. We build machines for pharmaceutical companies. It’s a lot of stainless steel and precise welding. The shop stays fairly clean compared to some others because you can't have dust everywhere when you’re making pharma gear. We spend a lot of time looking at drawings and making sure every bolt is tight. It’s just a small group of us here. We’ve all worked in different shops before ending up at this one. The heat in the afternoon can be a bit much, but the fans help. We don't have any fancy mission statements or things written on the walls. We just come in, look at what needs to be built, and get to work. Most of our customers are from around Gujarat, though sometimes we send stuff further away. It’s interesting to see how these machines come together from just sheets of metal. We test everything before it leaves to make sure it actually spins or pumps like it should. Sometimes a design needs a little tweaking, so we sit down and figure it out. It's steady work and we like the people we work with. No big fuss, just building things that work.
