Sainath Fabrication

We spend most of our time at Shop No. 6 in City Plaza on Prabhu Kripa Road. It’s usually pretty loud because of all the cutting and welding we do for the fabrication work. If you walk by Bopal, you can probably hear us before you see us. The shop isn't very big, so we have to move things around a lot to make space for the bigger metal frames we are working on. Most days my hands are covered in grease or dust from the grinders, and that’s just how it is. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when we have the machines running for hours at a time. We’ve got piles of scrap in the corner and tools spread out over the workbench. People from around the neighborhood stop by to ask about fixing a gate or making a window grill. We don't do much talking, mostly just measuring and hitting metal. Sometimes it gets frustrating when a measurement is off by a tiny bit and we have to start over, but that’s the job. It’s not a clean or quiet place, but it’s where we do our work. We usually keep the front open so a bit of breeze comes in from the road. We’ve been here at City Plaza for a bit now, and everyone knows us as the guys who are always making noise with the iron. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day and we just keep at it until the sun goes down.
