Bombay Television Service

Bombay Television Service has been operating out of Shalin Complex for quite a while now. We are at shop number 3. The complex is right across from the Fatehpura Police Chowky in Vasna. It’s on the Bhatta Road in the Paldi area. Our workshop is usually cluttered with screens, circuit boards, and tools. We don’t try to keep it looking like a showroom because we are actually fixing things here. There is always a smell of solder in the air. We’ve seen many types of TVs come through these doors, from the old heavy ones to the thin ones they make now. Most of our day is spent hunched over a workbench with a magnifying glass or a screwdriver. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you come in, you’ll likely see one of us with our back turned, working on a repair. We try to be honest about what can be fixed and what can’t. The traffic outside on Bhatta Road can be a bit much, especially in the evenings. We’ve got a small radio that plays in the background to keep us company while we work. It’s a local business and we know a lot of the families around Paldi. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big signs. We just want to get the picture back on your screen. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us busy throughout the entire week and we appreciate that.
