Big Cinemas Films Ltd.

Being part of Big Cinemas Films Ltd. here in Ahmedabad means we spend a lot of time thinking about movies and screens. Our place is in the 380013 area of Gujarat. It’s not as glamorous as people think when they hear about the film business. Mostly it's just sitting in an office, making sure the schedules are right and the reels or digital files are where they need to be. The office is usually full of empty coffee cups and stacks of papers related to film prints. We get a lot of noise from the streets, and sometimes it's hard to hear the person on the other end of the phone. We’ve been operating out of this part of India for a good while. People come in and out all day, talking about release dates and ticket sales. We don't have a red carpet or anything like that here. It’s just desks, computers, and a lot of planning. Sometimes things go wrong, like a projector issue or a delay in shipping, and we just have to scramble to fix it. It’s a fast-paced environment but we’ve gotten used to the chaos. We just focus on getting the films to the people who want to see them. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, we’re all pretty tired, but we come back the next morning and do it all over again. There’s a poster on the wall from ten years ago we never took down because the tape is stuck too good. We like the neighborhood, even if the parking for the staff is a total nightmare every single day.
