Bhavin Patel runs this operation out of No. 202 at 226 Road No. 3 in the G I D C area of Kathwada. Being in an industrial zone like this means it is always loud and dusty. We are right near the Odhav Octroi Naka, which is always clogged with trucks and heavy vehicles. It’s a very practical environment. The unit isn't something you'd see in a magazine. It’s a working space with concrete floors and high ceilings. We spend a lot of time dealing with the logistics of being in Kathwada. Most days start with checking what arrived on the trucks overnight. The sun beats down on the metal roofs around here so it stays pretty hot in the office. We have a few chairs for guests but mostly we are on our feet. It is an honest way to make a living. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just work. Sometimes the neighbors come by to borrow a tool or just to chat about the traffic. You get used to the smell of diesel and the sound of machinery after a while. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of people. It’s a small setup where everyone knows what their job is. We just keep the wheels turning and try to stay on top of the schedule. That is the daily life here on Road No. 3.
