Being at B- 83 Bileshware Estate means we deal with the G. I. D. C. Odhav Ring Road Circle traffic every single morning. It is a heavy industrial area near Kathwada and there is always a smell of grease and metal in the air. At Bayer (India) Ltd., this specific site is more about the practical side of things. We have a lot of crates and pallets moving in and out on jacks. The space is large but it feels full when a new shipment arrives. The staff wears work clothes and we don't worry much about how the place looks to outsiders. It is mostly about the inventory and keeping things organized on the high shelves. The ring road is right there, so there is a constant rumble of trucks passing by. During the monsoon, the yard outside gets a bit muddy and we have to be careful with the loaders. We have a small break area where we sit on plastic chairs to eat lunch brought from home. It is not like the big corporate headquarters you see on TV. This is a working estate where people are focused on the task at hand. The walls are a dull grey and the overhead lights flicker sometimes, but it does the job. We keep a logbook on a wooden podium near the main shutter to track who comes in. It is just daily life in Odhav.
