Govind Traders

Finding us at Govind Traders is a bit of a story because of where we are. We are in Hathipura, right opposite the Old Madhupura area and also across from the Amarpura Hindi School. If you find yourself in Bardolpura, you are pretty much there. The address sounds repetitive because the landmarks are so close together. We deal in various goods, mostly trading whatever is in demand at the time. The school across the street means it gets very loud during recess and when classes let out, so we usually plan our breaks around those times. Our shop is old, and the shelves are a bit crooked, but they hold everything we need. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, watching the neighborhood change around us. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of foot traffic and carts moving back and forth. We don't bother with fancy displays. Most of what we have is stacked in crates or heavy bags. It is hard work, moving stock in the heat, and sometimes the rain makes the street a muddy mess. We just focus on keeping the inventory straight and making sure the regulars get what they need. It’s a simple way to run a business. We know the other shopkeepers around here, and we all look out for each other. It’s just a normal day of trading and making sure everything is counted correctly before we close up.
