Bardia Brothers is located in Baradia Mansion, right in the middle of Kapasia Bazar in Kalupur. If you know Ahmedabad, you know how packed and lively Kalupur can get. It’s an old part of the city, and the building has been around for a long time. Our space, Bardia Dye Chem Corporation, is often full of the smell of various materials and dyes. We have stacks of registers and samples everywhere on the tables. It’s a family-run kind of atmosphere, even if we are strictly professional about the work we do. The bazar outside is always moving, with carts and people pushing through the narrow lanes. We’ve grown accustomed to the shouting and the constant horns. Inside the mansion, it’s a bit cooler, but it’s still a very busy environment. We don’t have a fancy reception area. People just walk in, and we talk over the counter or the desks. We handle a lot of different things throughout the day, mostly coordinating between suppliers and the people who need our products. It’s been this way for years. We know the other shop owners around here, and we usually have tea together in the late afternoon when things quiet down a little bit. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s a straightforward business in a very old, very real part of the town. We just keep track of the stock and make sure the accounts are right at the end of the day.
