B. M. Industries

B. M. Industries is based out of Plot No. 5223 in Phase 4 of the G.I.D.C. in Vatva. To find us, you usually have to go behind the Dgp Winsor India Ltd. building, which is a much bigger place than ours. Being in the industrial zone means the roads are mostly full of big trucks and motorcycles. It gets very dusty here, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoons. Our workshop area is where most of the activity happens. There is always the sound of machines running or someone using a tool. We focus on industrial work, so the floor is usually a bit greasy or covered in metal shavings. We have a small office section where we keep the ledgers and the customer files, but it’s pretty basic. The tea stall at the corner of Phase 4 is where we usually go for a break. It’s a tough place to work in the summer because the tin roof holds a lot of heat, but we have some fans to keep the air moving. Most of the guys here have been working in Vatva for their whole lives. We don't have any fancy meetings or corporate stuff, just a morning check on what needs to be finished by the evening. It’s hard work, but we are used to the rhythm of the G.I.D.C. life and the noise of the neighboring plots that surrounds us.
