P. G. Shah Co.

P. G. Shah Co. has been located on Astodia Road for a very long time now. The building is quite old and the street is narrow, which is just how things are in this part of the city. We are right in the middle of the Astodia area where it is always crowded and busy from the early morning. Our shop doesn't look modern at all. It has high ceilings and old wooden shelves that are completely packed with our stock. We deal in various goods and have been doing so for several generations. The floor is made of old stone and it actually stays quite cool even when the sun is very hot outside. We have a few heavy wooden desks where we do all our bookkeeping. Most of our customers are people whose families have been buying from us for years. We don't use any marketing tricks or fancy signs. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to come in. The tea seller across the street knows exactly when we want our first cup. There is a lot of history in these narrow lanes and we feel like a small part of it. Sometimes the traffic gets so bad that even a bicycle can't get through the street, but we just wait it out. It’s a slower pace of business compared to the newer parts of town, and we prefer it that way.
