Ashok Traders

Ashok Traders is a small shop located in the Marhaba Complex on Relief Road. If you know Ahmedabad, you know how crowded and loud Relief Road gets, especially around Kadiakui. Our shop is at Number 1, right in the thick of it. It’s a narrow space filled with stock from floor to ceiling. Most days we are busy talking to customers who walk in or handling deliveries that come through the narrow lanes. There’s always someone stopping by for a chat or a cup of tea from the stall nearby. We aren't a big showroom with air conditioning and glass doors. It’s a traditional trade shop. We have stacks of items everywhere and we know exactly where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. We’ve been in this complex for years and have seen many shops come and go. Our routine is simple—open up, sweep the front, and wait for the first customer. Dealing with the traffic and the noise is just part of being on Relief Road. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or polished brochures. We just trade goods, keep our records in old ledgers, and try to be fair with everyone who walks through the door. It’s just how we do things here in this part of the city. We work until late in the evening when the market starts to quiet down, then we head home.
