Ashapura Wood Works/Krishna Furniture

We operate out of Goplani Market, which is right across from the S T Workshop Patia on Naroda Road. We actually go by Ashapura Wood Works and Krishna Furniture. It’s a bit of a dual name because we do both the raw woodwork and the finished furniture side of things. Our shop is at number 4, and it’s usually quite a noisy place with the sounds of sawing and sanding going on. Naroda Road is a heavy industrial and commercial area, so the atmosphere is always fast-paced. We spend most of our time in the back working on wood or out front talking to people about what kind of cabinets or doors they need. It’s dusty work and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We aren't trying to be a fancy showroom; we are a workshop first and foremost. People come to us when they want something specific made or if they need a solid piece of furniture that isn't just made of cheap materials. We’ve been in this market for a long time, so we know the other shop owners and the regulars who pass by. It’s a community of workers and small business owners. We just keep doing what we know how to do, which is working with wood and making sure the customer is okay with the final product before it leaves the shop. It’s a honest way to earn a living.
