Arya Samaj Ayurved Hospital

You can find us right by the Narol Circle, where the Mumbai Highway corner is in Ahmedabad. It is a busy spot at Kala Estate, and the noise from the trucks on the highway is something we have lived with for a long time. The hospital focuses on Ayurveda, so the whole building usually smells like dried herbs and warm oils. We have some old wooden benches in the courtyard where patients can sit in the shade. The building itself is part of the estate and has that solid, older feel to it. We have rooms where we keep the different powders and liquids used for the treatments, and everything is labeled by hand. The staff wears simple clothes and we spend a lot of time preparing the things we need for the day. It gets very dusty because of the highway traffic, so we are always sweeping the front steps. Most of the people who come here are from around Narol or the nearby areas, looking for something traditional. We don't have fancy computers at the front, just some ledgers and a heavy drawer for the files. The ceiling fans are old and slow, but they keep the air moving on hot afternoons. It is a very plain place that has stayed the same for years, even as the highway outside has gotten much busier.
